The foundations of the techniques you’ll learn are based on 2 important concepts: intramuscular coordination and time under tension.

First, Intramuscular tension refers to the magnitude of work or effort exerted by the muscle in order to generate movement.  The second concept, time under tension, refers to the duration of the work the muscles performs during a set.

First, Intramuscular tension refers to the magnitude of work or effort exerted by the muscle in order to generate movement.  The second concept, time under tension, refers to the duration of the work the muscles performs during a set.

The use of these different techniques will all strive towards the goal of maximizing intramuscular tension and time under tension.


In this course students will learn:

  1. Common mistakes in Hypertrophy training
  2. Utilizing 6 different Hypertrophy techniques to use in training programs 
  3. Training Splits for Hypertrophy
  4. 7 Phases of Sample Upper & Lower Body Workouts

Course Completion
To successfully complete this course, students will need to score a 90% or above on the Multiple-choice exam.  you will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

Recommended Prerequisite: Although not required, some concepts in this course are covered in the Foundations of Periodization & Program Design Course.
